We’d like to preface this story with an official Iron Man Helmet Shop Derp.
“A man from eastern China learned he doesn’t have a superhero physique after failing to fit inside an Iron Man suit he spent half a year constructing.
Electronic engineer Cheng Chen, 27, laboriously researched the armour online before embarking on building the 2-metre tall plastic costume.
But when the time came to try it one, Cheng, who comes from Jiangsu province, found he was too short and corpulent to fit inside, reports South China Morning Post.
Cheng used ethylene-vinyl acetate-a type of plastic-instead of metal as a means of cutting costs and to ensure the suit would be more manoeuvrable.
He then cut the armour into 13 parts, including helmet, mask, chest and limb protectors, which he later painted with metallic paint.
When Cheng failed to fit into the suit he enlisted his taller cousin for the job, but he too failed to get inside the costume. The 27-year-old now hopes to find a model who can wear the suit for him.
The Iron Man films are about an industrialist who builds a powerful armoured suit to become a superhero.
The only difference is that Robert Downey Jnr worked on a fitness regime, too.”
