Marvel’s head honcho for the cinematic universe, Kevin Feige, recently dropped a few interesting tidbits during an interview relating to what we can expect in the soon and not so soon Marvel cinematic universe!
On the inclusion of Spider-Man (currently owned by Sony) in Marvel movies:
“They have movies they want to make, we have an embarrassment of riches when it comes to Thor stories, and Cap stories, and Avengers stories”, adding that “it would be cool to happen sometime. But I don’t know when that would be”
On the Future of a fourth Iron Man movie:
“Well, if I believe Tony Stark to be James Bond, then there would be an Iron Man 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9…”. But without Robert Downey Jr? “That’s the question. That’s a question we won’t have to face until after Avengers 3, so that’s at least five or six years away”.
On Ed Norton not being in Avengers:
“There never really was a negotiation period on that one … there were very, very brief discussions. But very soon after that, very early on the process, we identified Mark Ruffalo as who we wanted to play this character”
On tying Avengers and Avengers Age of Ultron together:
“it will be clear why they have come back together” [and] Avengers: Age Of Ultron also “makes it clear retroactively why they didn’t get together at the end of Iron Man 3. Why they didn’t get together to help Thor save London on this film. Some of that will be clear in Captain America: The Winter Soldier… Cap 2 is the link between Avengers and Avengers: Age Of Ultron”.
