It’s not a foregone conclusion that Robert Downey Jr. hasn’t committed to much more than then next 2 Avengers movies. Check out what Samuel L. Jackson had to say on the subject:
“Jackson said, “Robert’s a great guy. We love having him around. He’s an integral character in those stories. [It] wouldn’t have been the same without him. But you know… Marvel is Marvel, things happen. And audiences are fickle too.”
“At some point, if Robert decides he’s not going to do it, and they put somebody else inside that Iron suit… you know, it might work,” added Jackson. “They changed War Machine, nobody noticed.””

What do you think? We’re not sure who could fill those very heavy boots, but it’s certainly not Mark Wahlberg in our opinion. Then again, stranger things have happened (like putting Ben Affleck in the Batman suit).
