It doesn’t look like these are currently available, but they do look cool and worth the wait!
“It’s the holiday season — the time for cheese of all varieties. App Dudes have create a couple smartphone stands in the likenesses of Captain America and Iron Man, complete with an app that provides the face. It’s full cornball, and we’re all about it.
The stands are big-headed versions of Iron Man and Captain America, so you can think of them as literal representations of their characters. In this case, the big heads are a positive — on top, there’s a slot for up to a 5.1″ smartphone. Once the phone is nestled in, a companion app can be opened up to provide Tony Stark’s or Steve Rogers’s face.
To their credit, App Dudes probably could have stopped there. But, they went the extra mile (or maybe a few yards) and added 50 voice lines per character, which can be made to play at random. The app/stand combo also makes good use of the phone’s accelerometer — tilt the stand, and the character will say a few other lines. They’ll also react with animations when the screen is tapped, as anyone would do when their face is poked. And, hey, maybe it’ll even get the kids (or you) out of bed faster, thanks to an alarm clock built into the app. If Iron Man or Captain America is telling you to wake up, you have to figure it’s for good reason.
The App Dudes Marvel stands are going to be $20, when they hopefully become available. They’re to be sold on Amazon (Iron Man, Captain America), but they’re either not ready to go yet or stock has already been sold out. We wouldn’t be surprised by either.
