Want to see a homemade Iron Man gauntlet with missiles that fire? Of course you do, check it below!
“A German hobbyist has developed a homemade Iron Man-inspired gauntlet that launches real rockets.
Patrick Priebe modelled the aluminium gauntlet after one that appeared in the film Iron Man 3. He shaped and painted the weapon to give it the signature red-and-gold finish.
There are two buttons on the inside of the glove to activate the rocket. The first causes the rocket launcher to rise up into position, while the second actually fires it. Priebe uses shop-bought model rockets that create a big bang on impact.
There’s an aiming laser to help show roughly where the rocket will end up plus a ‘burning laser’ for those times when the rocket isn’t appropriate.
“I am just a huge Iron Man fan,” Priebe told Mirror.co.uk. “I made a laser gauntlet once, now I just had to make a new one with a missile.”
It took a total of 250 hours of work and cost around £700 to make the missile-launching device.
It won’t come as a huge surprise that Priebe has managed to injure himself while testing the rocket system – leaving a 10-cm long burn along his upper arm.
This is not the first time Priebe has made a movie-inspired glove. He’s also made a Spiderman ‘web shooter’ and DIY Wolverine claws.
