2 High School students recently decided to put their skills to the test in making an Iron Man suit.
Inspired by the Marvel movies and calling on the power of YouTube for guidance, Brendan McClelland, a sophomore and Sean McRoberts, a ninth-grader, were able to make progress in a big way.
“I used 8 1/2-by-11 inch EVA foam mats, hot glue and spray paint to make the entire body of the costume,” Brendan says. “At the joints of the arm and the legs I used Lego pieces and hinges, so I would be able to move around while I was wearing it.”
Brendan purchased the products in bulk from local hardware stores and Target. In total, Brendan estimates the entire cost of the homemade costume to be about $200.”
