No big surprise here, but Iron Man 3 has been officially named top grossing movie of 2013.
This isn’t to be confused with our earlier post, which talks about RDJ himself being bumped off the top earning spot (The Rock is top earning actor, also not a big surprise since he was in so many movies this year).
Here’s a breakdown of the top earners:
- “Iron Man 3” – $1.2 billion
- “Despicable Me 2” – $918.5 million
- “Fast and Furious 6” – $788.7 million
- “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” – $765.3 million
- “Monsters University” – $743.6 million
- “Man of Steel” – $662.8 million
- “Gravity” – $652.3 million
- “Thor: The Dark World” – $627.1 million
- “The Croods” – $587.2 million
- “World War Z” – $540 million
