“An Anhui tourist site has decided to abandon any hint of authenticity by constructing a giant and hideous Iron Man statue to go along with its colossal and tacky Sphinx knockoff.
The World Cultural Heritage Expo Park in Chuzhou city built its less than tasteful copy-Sphinx back in 2015, followed quickly by a Louvre Pyramid replica.
But apparently knockoff ancient Egyptian landmarks just weren’t bringing in the crowds anymore, so the park decided to add something a little more modern to the grounds.
And what could be better than a 30-meter-tall, frumpy-looking Iron Man?
We really pity the future archaeologists who dig up this mess.”
