“A brand new set photo from Avengers 4 has made its way online giving fans a closer look at Iron Man’s new arc reactor. Not much is known regarding the narrative trajectory of the project especially with its direct prequel, Avengers: Infinity War set for release May of next year. But it is no secret that the “genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist” likes to tinker with his armor suit as often as possible. So it is not a surprise that he would come up with an upgraded battle armor and an improved power source on probably his biggest and most important fight yet since becoming a superhero.
Despite still being untitled, Avengers 4, which ultimately caps off the jam-packed and high-stakes Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has officially kicked off production in Atlanta, Georgia earlier this month. And while Marvel Studios is trying their hardest to keep everything on the down-low so as not to inadvertently reveal any spoilers, photos from the set continues to emerge on the internet, which somehow satisfies fans’ craving for any updates regarding the massive project.
A close-up shot of Tony Stark’s new reactor has come courtesy of the Atlanta-based photographer Atlanta Filming who regularly posts celebrity sightings and production snaps on his Twitter page. We have seen various iterations of the character’s arc reactor, from the moment he built it from scraps in Afghanistan to a more high-tech one in the following films, but this one undoubtedly looks like the most intricate of them all. You can check out the photo below:
Over the last several days, various photos from the set of Avengers 4 have featured Iron Man supporting characters like the long awaited return of Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow) sporting a spiffy engagement ring, which was teased at the end of Spider-Man: Homecoming. Tony’s trusted assistant and loyal pal, Happy Hogan (Jon Favreau) also made an appearance. Unfortunately, the mini-reunion does not seem to be in during the happiest of times. Another snap from supposedly same sequence filming shows a very distraught Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo) sharing an emotional embrace with his Science Bro.
Avengers 4 will see the return of Thanos (Josh Brolin) to wreak havoc in the MCU. So while Infinity War is reported to include deaths of some of our most beloved characters, its 2019 sequel is expectedly going to take it to the next level with the stakes becoming much higher. Fortunately, from the looks of it, Tony has been doing a lot of preparation work — starting with his new arc reactor, that could up the Avengers’ chances of finally defeating the mad Titan for good.”
