524565810Wanna hear some good news on the Iron Man 4 front?  Of course you do, read on below!

“The Marvel Cinematic Universe is packed with superhero movies, from the May 6 release of Captain America: Civil War through the 2019 release of The Avengers: Infinity War Part II. However, that isn’t holding the movie studio giant back from adding in more superhero sequels than fans originally bargained for. According to a recent interview with Iron Man actor Robert Downey Jr., it seems like the possibility of there being an Iron Man 4 is still on the table. While speaking with ABC’s Nightline, RDJ himself directly responded to comments on the future of his character’s independent films in saying, “I feel like I could do one more.” And that’s not even the last of the buzz.

The actor turned on-screen superhero also revealed in an interview with Ellen DeGeneres that they’re “in the middle of a negotiation.” Which means that, yes, it seems like a fourth film is in fact on it’s way. As far as when filming would be happening, when the film will be released, or what other Avengers characters might be showing up in the film, it’s obviously all up in the air at the moment. But, if I know anything for sure, it’s that Iron Man will definitely not be dying off anytime soon. In fact, in the behind-the-scenes Civil War footage featured on Nightline, it seems like RDJ is in better superhero shape than ever before. Just check him out at the four minute mark.

But what could Tony Stark’s story possibly have left? Considering the fact that Iron Man is appearing in Captain America: Civil War and is set to appear in Spider-Man: Homecoming, The Avengers: Infinity War Part I and The Avengers: Infinity War Part II, it is safe to say that much more can happen for him. From there, his story could find a way to develop into something new. However, with Iron Man 3 seemingly wrapping up his character’s solo path, personally, the concept of a fourth film does seem a little far-fetched. But, then again, so does the idea of RDJ ever really leaving behind his role as Tony Stark.

Basically, the way I’m looking at it, is that Iron Man was the first superhero from the Avengers to join us and, therefore, seems to be the key to the entire MCU. With his developing relationships with all of the characters and his ability to be a central theme in what is supposed to be Captain America’s third film, you can’t ever say no to Iron Man. RDJ also confidently joked in a recent interview with Jimmy Kimmel Live! that he feels “partially responsible” for Captain America even existing in the first place. And, well, why not? Because, after all, he was the first.

Captain America: Civil War hits theaters May 6, 2016 and, no matter what happens, at this point Iron Man is already coming out on top.”
