Ironman21What a cool kid!

“When fire crews were called to an apartment fire in a Flint neighborhood, 3-year-old Isaiah Andrews decided he needed to help. After all, he’s ‘Iron Man.’

“He saw the fire engine across the street. He said, ‘I have to help. I have to help. I’m Iron Man,” said Dominique Williams, Iron Man’s mother.

So Isaiah donned his mask and sprang into action.

“I flagged them down, and I said, ‘Hey, can you say hi to him? He wants to say hi to you.’ He sat down, I snapped the picture and here we are,” Williams said.

The picture was posted on Facebook and firefighter Rico Phillips saw it, tracked down Iron Man and invited him to the main Flint fire station.

“For a 3 year old to identify himself as a superhero and relate it to us is very humbling and very touching. Obviously, this little kid is a special guy, you can tell,” Phillips said.

Iron Man got to squirt a fire house and try on a firefighter helmet.

Phillips slid down the pole, which didn’t impress Iron Man because he uses retro-rockets to make soft landings.

“He would not stop talking about it when I told him he was coming down here. And he will not stop talking about it probably for the next couple of weeks,” Williams said.

Iron Man gave the firefighters high fives to show his solidarity with them.

“I don’t know who had a better time, us, mom or him,” Phillips said.

Iron Man would have worn his full costume for this story, but it was in the wash. He had spilled yogurt on it.”
